"Christ makes us one body ... connected to each other."

Romans 12:5 (GWT)

FEEDING CHILDREN EVERYWHERE is a social charity that empowers and mobilizes people to assemble healthy meals for hungry children.  The goal of Feeding Children Everywhere is to bring people together to make a tangible difference in the lives of hungry children.  The by-product of people coming together is healthy meals for hungry children.  To date, FCE has sent millions of meals to four continents across the globe; including countries like Hatai, Kenya, Ghana and Brazil.  For every dollar received, Feeding Children everywhere will package and ship four healthy meals to hungry children around the world.  The way that they are able do this is by partnering with churches like Good Shepherd to host meal packing parties.  We are looking forward to hosting such an event on the afternoon of April 26th, 2014 - we would love for you to join us and be a part of it.  For more information please take a look at there website:

LUTHERAN MALARIA INITIATIVE - One of the initiatives that GSLC has been extremely enthusiastic about supporting over the past few years is the Lutheran Malaria Initiative.  The most effective methods currently being used to control malaria include proper diagnosis and prompt medical treatment, proper use of insecticide-treated bed nets and indoor residual spraying. To be successful these strategies require education about malaria and how to prevent and treat it. The Lutheran Malaria Initiative works through local partners to educate families on malaria, increase access to treatment, and provide prevention tools such as bed nets.  LMI works in communities where they already have strong relationships, such as those with our Lutheran partner churches and other local, community organizations. These long-standing partnerships make the ideal platform for introducing malaria programming. Already, the work of the Lutheran Malaria Initiative is making an impact. To date, LMI has reached 2.4 million people through malaria projects in Tanzania, Mali, Uganda, and Kenya. With increased funding, LMI will expand to Ethiopia, Burkina Faso, Madagascar, Nigeria, Guinea, Niger and Ghana.  In continued suppost of this great effort, we will be holding our Annual Chilli-Cookoff on February 15th @ 6:00pm - we hope you can join us!
