Located in New Fairfield, the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd is a community focused on building relationships of love and care for one another.
The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd is a joyous and caring gathering of people who experience the love and grace of God through worship of our Lord Jesus Christ. Together we support, encourage, and learn together so that we may grow in our personal faith, bring Christ to those around us, and serve the Lord through our church and in our communities.
The Apostles' Creed has been used in churches as a confession of the Christian faith for centuries. It remains one of the most used Creeds in baptismal rites and for teaching new Christians the basics of the Christian faith. The Creed is one of the oldest creeds used by the church and communicates the Christian faith by using the language of the Scriptures. As a Christian church, and particularly Lutheran, we believe the Apostles' Creed is a way of communicating our beliefs.
I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
Maker of heaven and earth.
And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died and was buried.
He descended into hell.
On the third day He rose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven
and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty.
From thence He will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy Christian Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.
